Earlier this week, we we continued our blog time capsule capturing the thoughts of current Evening UST MBA students after their first semester. Today they (anonymously) share their thoughts on how they'll handle the second semester.
How do you plan to approach semester 2?
"I think I will try and meet more people. I'm a very outgoing person, but I think I can do a better job meeting/introducing myself to people outside of those I sit next to or work on projects with. In addition, I will attempt to discover the resources available to me through the business school and start to utilize them."
"Now that I have a good rhythm with my time management, I plan to take a couple classes each semester and perhaps try one of the blended courses in future semesters."
"I tried to make homework a priority on Sundays but I want that time to relax. This semester I am going to look at Saturdays instead. I also need to spread the reading out more during the week, which is hard with two classes."
"I feel that I have a better idea of what to expect for this semester. I can start the semester off right by already knowing my study spots and what I need in order to get work done efficiently."
What class(es) are you looking forward to either this semester or a future semester?
"I'm really looking forward to getting some more of the required classes under my belt so that I can starting adding electives. I'm interested in some of the finance electives (such as the investment banking elective) and entrepreneurship classes. In terms of this semester, I'm taking Financial Accounting and Business Law. I've always been interested in law (even thought about going to law school), so a more focused law class will be very interesting. Accounting... I would say that I know it is going to be a challenge for me because I'm not well-versed in it. I know that I will have to put in extra time studying, so I'm not looking forward to that. But I am looking forward to broadening my knowledge of the subject."
"I am really looking forward to the entrepreneur class options later in my MBA coursework."
"I think the financial accounting class will be interesting because I have never been exposed to it. I think that means it’s going to be hard, but that’s OK! I am not doing this because it’s easy. I am also excited to apply for the January international experience in 2016. That sounds AMAZING!"
"I'm looking forward to my Business Law class. I've really wonderful things about the class and about the professor. I'm also taking it with a few other people from my first semester classes."
