Study abroad: First Steps information sessions begin this week

Come to the International Education Center to learn about study abroad options for all majors in countries all over the world. You also will learn about financial aid availability, St. Thomas policies, IEC resources and study abroad applications.

First Steps sessions start this week, so make sure to check the IEC Web site for dates throughout the semester.

Here is the schedule for fall 2006 First Step sessions:

  • 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13
  • 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19
  • 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21
  • 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26
  • 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3
  • 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12
  • 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17
  • 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24
  • 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7
  • 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14

All First Steps sessions are held at the International Education Center, 44 N. Cleveland Ave. (across from the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center). 

International Education Center staff will be available on the days listed below outside of Murray-Herrick Campus Center (inside the Grill if it is raining) at various times during September to answer any questions about J-Term 2007 and other semester and year abroad opportunities available to UST students.  

IEC staff will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on these days:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 19
  • Thursday, Sept. 21
  • Tuesday, Sept. 26
  • Thursday, Sept. 28

AustraLearn and International Education of Students (IES) representatives to visit UST campus

Find out about studying for a semester or year in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Latin America and Europe. Representatives from both the AustraLearn and IES study abroad programs will be outside Murray-Herrick Campus Center (in the Grill if it is raining) during September.

Here is their schedule:

10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 – AustraLearn

11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 – IES
