Graduating Environmental Studies Majors to Present Projects at Open Forum May 14

Learn about important sustainability issues affecting Minnesota in an open forum Monday, May 14. Graduating environmental studies majors will present their capstone projects at 10 a.m. in Room 201, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts. Local and organic food will be served.

Presenters and projects:

  • Margaret Jaehne, Stephen Schmitz and Abigail Yeomans – “A Shifting Oil Landscape: Minnesota’s Dependence on Canadian Tar Sands”
  • Trevor Dunn, Taylor Schluter, Lewis Segl and Alison Vandercook – “How Can Minnesota Increase Solar and Wind Energy Production?”

The Environmental Studies program sends a special “thank you” to Dr. Michael Degnan, Philosophy Department, who has worked with these students in the development of their projects over the course of the semester.
