Swing Dancing Club Steps Into the Past 40 Years of Music With Decades Dance Saturday in Scooter's

The Decades Dance, sponsored by the UST Swing Dancing Club, will be held Saturday, March 31, in Scooter’s, Anderson Student Center.

A swing dance lesson will be conducted from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by an open dance from 8 p.m. to midnight. The lesson and dance is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community.

The Decades Dance will celebrate the music and styles of the past 40 years. Participants will swing dance to popular songs from 1972 to the present and are encouraged to dress in clothing from any of the years in that period. The dance includes a costume contest.

“This will be a great chance to have fun, be social and to put on one's dancing shoes – or maybe even one's legwarmers,” commented Lisa Weier, a c0-chair of the Swing Dancing Club. “And bring your friends!”

The Anderson Student Center is located at Cretin and Summit avenues on the university's St. Paul campus. For more information email Weier.
