Daniel McLaughlin, director of the University of St. Thomas’ Center for Health and Medical Affairs, will be one of three featured panelists at a town hall forum on health care Thursday, Oct. 1.
The Henrietta Schmoll School of Health at St. Catherine University will host this forum on the state of health care in the United States. The event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Jeanne d’Arc Auditorium of Whitby Hall at St. Catherine University.
This forum is free and open to the public. Free parking also is available in the university’s O’Shaughnessy lot accessible via Gate 4 on Fairview Avenue south of Randolph.
Featured panelists are:
- Mary Brainerd, CEO at HealthPartners, a company recently noted as a "model" of member-owned insurance cooperatives, and a member of the council of advisers for the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health.
- Sister Amata Miller, IHM, Ph.D., professor of economics, a nationally recognized expert on faith-based perspective in social crises and director of the Myser Initiative on Catholic Identity.
- Daniel McLaughlin, M.H.A. (master’s of health administration), director of the University of St. Thomas' Center for Health and Medical Affairs.
- Moderator David Page, retired Fairview Health Services president and CEO, also serves on the St. Catherine University Board of Trustees and is a member of the council of advisers for the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health.
