According to this Dublin newspaper, "Only last month [Declan Kiberd] was awarded an honorary degree from the University of St Thomas in Minnesota. Post-colonial studies blossomed in the US in the 1990s and distinguished critics of the Anglo-Irish oeuvre are highly prized Stateside.
