Payroll Department's Annie Hanebuth '04 will trade purple for black as she takes the stage to perform with the Minnesota Orchestra in its pre-season concert on Friday, Sept. 16. Hanebuth is one of 50 amateur musicians selected to participate in the first annual Fantasy Camp at Orchestra Hall. She is a violinist in the Mississippi Valley Orchestra and has played for more than 20 years.
"The opportunity to work with the Minnesota Orchestra under the direction of Sarah Hicks, the first woman to hold a conductor position in the orchestra’s history, is truly an honor,” Hanebuth said. “An old teacher of mine once said the most successful people are not the ones who have all the answers – they’re the ones with the biggest hearts. I never imagined that piece of advice would grant me a backstage pass to perform with one of America’s top symphonic ensembles.”
Information about the Sept. 16 performance and ticket information can be found on the Minnesota Orchestra website.
