Admissions Shifts Deposit, Refund Deadline to June 1, Expands Digital Options

Recognizing the growing impact the coronavirus has had for families across the United States, St. Thomas has pushed its confirming deposit and refund deadline back a month, to June 1.

Similar to about one-third of National Association for College Admission Counseling institutions, the shift allows prospective students and their families more flexibility amidst the current events playing out across the world.

St. Thomas' Admissions team has also in the past week vastly expanded its digital offerings, including a video tour of campus; launching virtual appointments with admissions counselors; a 360-degree walk-through of campus; and more information through social media channels like Instagram. Financial Aid has also shifted all of its paper communication online, and is providing Zoom and phone appointments with staff.

On March 31, Admissions will also be hosting a Zoom webinar, “Ask Our Experts,” for parents/guardians and their students with expert panelists from Admissions, Financial Aid, Residence Life and the Dean of Student’s Office.
