Win prizes at 'Water for Peace Alley-Cat and Fun Ride' Saturday

BEAST (Bicycle Enthusiasts at St. Thomas) and the Students for Justice and Peace are sponsoring a scavenger-hunt-type race (and a relaxed ride) on Saturday, May 15. The event will raise money for Water for Peace, a project that provides clean drinking water to schools in Minneapolis’ sister city of Najaf, Iraq.

Racers and riders will meet at 3 p.m. at the “Water for Peace Alley-Cat and Fun Ride” at Bracket Field, located along the greenway at 39th Avenue and 28th Street in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis. The race will start at 3:30 p.m. The suggested entry fee is $5.

The race will last roughly an hour and conclude at Bracket Field, as will the relaxed ride. Everyone will be eligible to win prizes donated by Penn Cycle, Cars-R-Coffins, and the Alternative Bike and Board Shop.
