Join the St. Thomas community in celebrating Homecoming Week at the Wellness Center’s ninth annual Wellness 5K Run/Walk Relay down Summit Avenue. The race begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23.
Teams of four will relay down Summit to Howell Avenue and back before handing off a baton to their next teammate. Teams can run or walk. It isn’t necessarily about speed, but rather about celebrating homecoming and staying healthy. Each team member will run or walk approximately .8 miles.
The 5K is open to UST students, staff, faculty and alumni. Family and friends of the UST community also are welcome. The team showing the most St. Thomas spirit will win the prize.
Check-in will begin at 8:15 a.m. in the Murray-Herrick Campus Center Fireside Room. The race is free to students, including those who register at the event. Cost is $5 for faculty and staff who pre-register before Oct. 23 and $7 the day of the race. The fee is $10 for alumni and $15 for family and friends.
Teams must have four members. Teams that do not have enough members can contact the Wellness Center for help, (651) 962-6128.
Registration forms are available in the Wellness Center, located in the lower level of Koch Commons, and registration information will be available on the Wellness Center website. Each form has spaces for the four team members to list their information, and each person must sign the waiver. Drop off the registration form at the Wellness Center or send it to Mail #4025.
Pre-register by Friday, Oct. 15, and receive a Wellness 5K T-shirt.
The Wellness Center will host a table during convo hour Thursday, Sept. 30, in the lower quad, where staff will hand out snacks and registration forms.
