Tomorrow – Tuesday, Dec. 1 – is World AIDS Day. HIV/AIDS is a virus that is spread through the transmission of bodily fluids and attacks the immune system.
There is still no cure. More than 22 million lives have been lost to this epidemic, while another 42 million are infected with HIV; of those, 900,000 are Americans. World’s AIDS Day is a time to remember those who have lost their lives, renew hope for a cure and give thanks to all those who give of themselves to help those infected.
The Wellness Center is asking you to show your support by wearing a red ribbon, which the center will hand out from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow in Koch. For more information, e-mail the Wellness Center.
