Wellness Center Offers Free Massage Class Nov. 17

The Wellness Center is offering a free massage class for all students on Wednesday, Nov. 17. This session will examine the significance of scent.

The class will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. in Room 108, McNeely Hall. Limited to only 30 students, participants are asked to preregister in the Wellness Center, located in the lower level of Koch Commons.

Research shows that every scent has a meaning and an effect on the human brain and body. The scent of lemons tends to energize and stimulate the human brain, while the scent of a rose is soothing and calming.

During this massage, students will learn different aromatherapy scents as well as how to create a relaxing atmosphere. Students will create their own aromatherapy massage oil to keep for their personal use.
