You're invited to July 30 Neighborfest
The University of St. Thomas will host its annual community celebration, Neighborfest, from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 30, in upper quadrangle – near UST's residence halls – on the St. Paul campus.
The event, which first was held in 1981, attracts hundreds of St. Thomas neighbors to the campus. Neighborfest is free and open to the university community and campus neighbors, their families and friends.
The atmosphere is relaxing, and this year's fest has a picnic theme. As usual, there will be plenty of free treats for kids young and not-so-young: ice cream novelties, Rice Krispie bars, pretzel twists and lemonade cups. And, for those who'd like to make a dinnertime visit, we'll fire up the grill and sell hotdogs and hamburgers.
Back by popular demand is Ticket to Brasil and its terrific bossa nova, Brazilian jazz and samba tunes. Kids always love the pony rides, petting zoo, face painting and more.
In the event of rain, the festivities move indoors to nearby Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
To prepare for Neighborfest, The Grill will close at 3 p.m. Thursday. Questions? Call University Relations, (651) 962-6400.
