Ninety-two St. Thomas employees, including 70 staff members and administrators and 22 faculty members, have chosen to participate in the 2013-14 voluntary retirement incentive plans and will retire May 31.
A reception to thank them for their years of service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 22, in Woulfe Alumni Hall in the Anderson Student Center.
“Our faculty and staff are our most valuable and precious resources at St. Thomas,” President Julie Sullivan said. “I am grateful for their dedication to the university and their years of hard work, and I wish them the very best as they begin a new phase in their lives. We shall miss them dearly.”
The incentive plans are intended to help make retirement feasible for eligible faculty and staff members who are ready to retire but have financial or other concerns.
Next month, St. Thomas will begin a formal process to review proposals for filling vacancies created by retirements, or to repurpose funds for other uses to help achieve objectives identified during the strategic planning process.
