Alumni Give Back Through Hearts and Hammers Project

Saturday, June 2 was a not only a beautiful to be outside enjoying the sunny weather,  it was also a spectacular day to be taking part in the spring 2012 Hearts & Hammers Project Day.  Hearts & Hammers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to aiding elderly and disabled homeowners with exterior home improvement projects, was pleased to have members of the Graduate Business Alumni community help for a third year in a row.

This year 25 alumni gathered to display their external improvement expertise with their handwork of painting siding, resealing a deck, and refurbishing landscaping throughout the property.  The day started in true alumni fashion with a warm cup of coffee, doughnuts, and introductions to new and old alumni alike.  The homeowners of the project house were beaming from ear to ear as their house transformed in appearance.  They were incredibly grateful for the efforts of the UST alumni group, and were humbled of their willingness to give up a Saturday to give of their time.

The Opus College of Business plans to continue its involvement with Hearts & Hammers and plans to participate in a fall project day.  To learn more about the Graduate Business Alumni involvement get started by joining our LinkedIn group, following us on Facebook and Twitter, subscribing to the Opus Magnum blog and creating your account on CareerLink.
