Arnold Air Society to send care packages to deployed troops

Do you have a friend or family member who is serving in the military and who currently is deployed overseas?

The Arnold Air Society, which has a chapter that is affiliated with the Air Force ROTC detachment at the University of St. Thomas, is doing two things:

  • It is collecting the names and addresses of service women and men who are deployed overseas.
  • It is collecting items for care packages that will be sent to those service men and women.

Here are some of the items that can be dropped off in collection boxes located on the university’s St. Paul campus: books and magazines, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, hand wipes, hard candy, energy bars, chewing gum and travel-size games.

The collection boxes are located in Koch Commons, the north side of the Student Dining Room on the second floor of Murray-Herrick Campus Center, the business office on the first floor McNeely Hall, and near Beakers Coffee Cart on the second floor of Owens Science Hall.

Items can be placed in the collection boxes until the end of spring semester.

If you have a deployed friend or family member who would appreciate a care package, please send the name and address to CombatCarePackages@gmail.com. You can also send any questions about the program to that e-mail address.
