“The Biology Department will host a seminar on Friday, Oct. 1, by Dr. Steve Polasky, the Fesler-Lampert Professor of Ecological/Environmental Economics at the University of Minnesota.
Polasky was the senior staff economist for environment and resources for the President’s Council of Economic Advisers 1998-1999. He was elected into the National Academy of Sciences in 2010. His research interests include ecosystem services, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy and environmental regulation.
Polasky's seminar, "Ecosystem Services and Conservation," will be held from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in Room 313, O’Shaughnessey Science Hall.
