Career Link: Three ways to communicate more effectively

Throughout my career, I've been a part of many corporate recruiting teams and professional organizations – both in the U.S. and here in Europe.  No matter the location, there were always common themes when it came to employers and the value that they placed on the quantitative and qualitative development of M.B.A. students and graduates. Those themes were:

  1. First things first, know your audience before you hit "Send" on any written communication
  2. Write meaningful and memorable (not verbose) follow-up letters; and
  3. Being a strategic communicator is just as important as being a strategic thinker

Business Insider recently published an article, "5 Templates For Writing Tricky Job-Related Emails," in its career section that provides helpful templates for sending professional emails. It is my hope that this information in the articles proves to be relevant, but more importantly, useful for MBA’s in their professional careers.
