Campus Community Celebrates Top Workplaces Designation With Cake and Ice Cream Socials at Noon Today

Conviction
“We celebrate the achievements of all members of our community
in goals attained and obstacles overcome,
and in all things give praise to God.”

Gratitude is one of the seven “Convictions” of the University of St. Thomas, and the university will give thanks and celebrate being named by the Minneapolis Star Tribune as one of Minnesota’s Top Workplaces with cake and ice cream socials from noon to 1 p.m. today on both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses.

Enjoy cake and ice cream on John P. Monahan Plaza in St. Paul and on the second floor between Schulze Hall and Terrence Murphy Hall in Minneapolis. (Rain site for St. Paul campus: Woulfe Alumni Hall, south.) All employees are invited to stop by for celebratory treats and social time with colleagues. Father Dennis Dease, president of the university, will stop by the St. Paul campus celebration.

The University of St. Thomas ranked 29th in the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Top Workplaces survey among the state’s largest employers. Survey results were published Sunday.

St. Thomas was nominated to participate in the Top Workplaces project in March. Five hundred randomly selected employees received emails asking them to complete a short questionnaire about working for the university.

According to the Star Tribune, Top Workplaces recognizes the most progressive companies in Minnesota based on employee opinions about company leadership, communication, career opportunities, workplace environment, managerial skills, pay and benefits. Rankings were composite scores calculated soley on the basis of employee responses.
