Center for Business Excellence announces June programs

The Center for Business Excellence will offer several programs in June. A 33 percent discount is available to UST alumni, and a 75 percent discount is available to UST faculty and staff. Financial Risk Management Through Currency Hedging
Thursday and Friday, June 1 and 2

Instructed by finance associate professor Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal-Dale, this program is designed to provide quick but thorough knowledge of “all you need to know about currency risk management but were afraid to ask” or cannot afford to learn on the job.

Topics include:

  • Financial markets: FX basics, quoting and IRP
  • Corporate currency exposures: translation and transaction exposures
  • Financial derivatives: basics of forwards, swaps and options
  • Hedging foreign currency risk: using instruments to reduce or eliminate risk
  • Why do firms hedge financial risk?
  • U.S. practice in foreign currency hedging
  • FX exposures: defining, managing and reporting FX exposures

Mini Master of Volunteer Management
Monday through Thursday, June 5-8

Developed by the Center for Nonprofit Management, this program provides volunteer managers with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively deal with the changing face of volunteerism. Participants will gain increased skills in volunteer management with a special focus on training, facilitation, conflict management, communication, leadership and supervision.
