Chemistry Club to hold annual barbecue, dunk tank tomorrow
The St. Thomas Chemistry Club will hold its annual Welcome Back Barbecue tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 7.
Everyone interested in chemistry is welcome to stop by from noon to 1:30 p.m. under the arches between Owens Science Hall and O'Shaughnessy Science Hall on the south campus for a burger or a hot dog and to learn about the club's activities.
All campus members are welcome to visit the dunk tank, where they'll have a chance to soak their favorite (or least favorite!) chemistry faculty member.
Dr. Tom Rochon, executive vice president and chief academic officer, also will take a turn in the tank, so if you'd rather dunk an administrator here's your chance.
Dunk tank proceeds will go to a local charity decided upon by chemistry club members. Last year's event supported the Children's Hospital; the previous year's proceeds went to Hurricane Katrina relief.
