Dr. Amanda Haes, a bioanalytical chemist on the faculty at the University of Iowa, will present this week's Chemistry Seminar.
In this presentation, “Designing Nanomaterials for Disease Diagnostics," the architecture, stability and surface chemistry of solution-phase gold and silver nanoparticles will be correlated to nanoparticle function for improved disease treatment strategies and for the direct detection of disease biomarkers.
Chemistry Seminars are held at 3 p.m. each Friday in Room 251, Owens Science Hall. The Department of Chemistry invites and encourages all to attend.
