Club sailing team qualifies for national semifinals
The UST club sailing team has qualified for the Inter Collegiate Sailing Association Semifinals May 2-3 in Boston, Mass.
The team qualified with its third-place finish in the Midwest Division qualifier April 18-19 at Notre Dame. Representing UST in the coed competition in some very close races were Brandon Wilson, Matt Weishan, Medora Sletten, and Charlie Igo.
The team finished one point behind the University of Minnesota and ahead of four Big 10 teams to advance to the semifinal round. In addition to St. Thomas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Northwestern qualified for the semifinals in May.
