English Graduate Conference on 'Literature, Transformation' is tomorrow

The UST English Graduate Conference on "Literature and Transformation" will be held from 2:30 to 8 p.m. tomorrow Friday, April 24, in the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center.

Noting both literal and symbolic meanings of transformation, the conference will feature analyses of a variety of literary or cultural texts that explore linguistic, psychological, political, social, economic, philosophical or historical ramifications of changes, shifts or turns in "forms."

The conference will be organized into six panels:

  1. "The 20th Century Novel: Awakenings"
  2. "Victorian Markets and Economies"
  3. "The 1890s: Cityscapes and Performances"
  4. "Media Figurations"
  5. "Gender, Language and Power"
  6. "Romantic Crossings"
