Faculty-staff participation rate is nearly double the former Annual Campaign record

University of St. Thomas employees have nearly doubled the previous participation record for the Faculty and Staff Annual Campaign, and there are still two months left in this year's campaign.

"Thank you to all members of the St. Thomas community who have helped establish this record," said John Bannigan, a gift officer in the university's Development Office. "As of April 23, we have achieved a 28 percent participation rate. The previous high-water mark for St. Thomas faculty and staff campaigns was 15 percent."

The campaign continues through the end of June. "If you have been thinking of making a gift, now is a good time," Bannigan said.

"We have a very real chance to achieve a 30 percent participation rate," he added. "This sends a powerful message to our alumni and corporations that are being asked to support the university's Opening Doors campaign.

"A gift of any size counts toward our goal and is deeply appreciated. The gifts can be designated for use in a specific area of the university."

The Business, Controller and Development offices have 100 percent participation rates in the campaign. Other areas with high participation levels are Alumni and Constituent Relations at 92 percent, School of Social Work at 89 percent, University Relations at 78 percent, and College of Applied and Professional Studies at 74 percent.

The Development Office will report other results through the end of the fiscal year (June 30).
