Fall Leadership Institute committee previews 'Behind the Leader' for students, faculty and staff
The Fall Leadership Institute, a three-day leadership training program for students, is previewed for faculty and staff with the schedule below.
Sponsored by the Department of Campus and Residence Life, this year’s Leadership Institute asks students to focus on their individual gifts as leaders.
The theme of this year's institute is "Behind the Leader."
Fall Leadership Institute tentative schedule
Sunday, Aug. 24
- 4 p.m. – Check-in and registration
- 5 p.m. – Opening dinner
- 6 p.m. – Jermaine Davis, keynote speech, author and motivational speaker
- 7 p.m. – Icebreaker and announcements
Monday, Aug. 25
- 8:30 a.m. – Breakfast
- 9 a.m. – Welcome, Mary Ann Ryan
- 9:30-11:05 a.m. – Breakout sessions
- 11:15 a.m. – Lunch
- 12:15 p.m. – Signe Harriday, keynote speech, MaMa mOsAic co-founder
- 2-4:30 p.m. – Breakout sessions
- 5:45 p.m. – Dinner
- 6:30 p.m. – Campus and Residence Life musical
Tuesday, Aug. 26
- 8:30 a.m. – Breakfast
- 9 a.m. – Rick Shiomi, keynote speech, Theatre Mu artistic director
- 10 a.m.-noon – Breakout sessions
- Noon – Lunch
- 1-3 p.m. – Team building
- 5 p.m. – Closing banquet and Wendy Wyatt, keynote speech, assistant professor, Department of Communication and Journalism, University of St. Thomas
The committee asks faculty and staff to encourage all students who may be interested in the institute to register by e-mailing campuslife@stthomas.edu. Residential students who register should submit their student ID number in order to be approved for early move-in to the residence halls.
