Foley Theater demolition scheduled for today

If you are a sidewalk superintendent (and who isn't?), you'll want to be on duty today – demolition is scheduled to begin today on Foley Theater and the Central Receiving portion of the Physical Plant.

The site, along with the space occupied by Schoenecker Arena and Coughlan Field House, will be the eventual home of the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex.

Foley Theater is prepared for demolition.

After giving the demolition your nod of approval, three other campus construction sites are within easy walking and superintending distance. On the east end of the lower quad, the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center exterior is undergoing tuck pointing and caulking. The towering scaffolding alone will delight the overseeing eye.

Across Cleveland Avenue, an addition is taking shape on Sitzmann Hall. Just west on Summit Avenue and around the corner to Grand Avenue, the Anderson Parking Facility is being landscaped.

Sidewalk superintendents can learn more about these campus projects on the university's Construction Web site.
