Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle to discuss health care March 12
The National Institute of Health Policy (NIHP) will welcome former Sen. Tom Daschle to campus Wednesday, March 12, to discuss his upcoming book, Critical: What We Can Do About the Health Care Crisis.
A reception and lecture will be held in the Schulze Hall auditorium on the St. Thomas Minneapolis campus. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. and the lecture begins at 7:30 p.m.
In his book, Daschle traces how skyrocketing costs, crumbling coverage and failed national policies have produced stories of the casualties of America's health system. He also explains why health policy change is so daunting and presents his vision for how, despite these obstacles, future progress in health care reform can be achieved.
Daschle served South Dakota as a member of Congress from 1978 to 1986 and of the U.S. Senate from 1987 to 2004.
This event is free of charge; however, registration is required as space is limited. For detailed information and registration, visit the NIHP Web site.
The National Institute of Health Policy is a program of the UST Opus College of Business.
