Health professions Advisers Sought for 2011-12 Academic Year

The Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) is seeking committed faculty members to serve as health professions advisers in the 2011-12 academic year.

After undergoing a one-day training session on Tuesday, Aug. 23, advisers will be expected to meet with current students who are interested in health professions careers, as well as with prospective students and their families.

The training session will include presentations by HPAC members and staff at the University of Minnesota Health Careers Center about existing on-campus and Web-based resources. The session also will include ample time for questions and discussions of advising case studies.

Participants will be compensated $200 for attending the training workshop and $250 at the end of each semester for contributing six hours a month to pre-health advising.
