Helpers needed at dinner for the homeless Dec. 2
From Michael Wilcox
Volunteers In Action
Volunteers In Action has received $753.31 in change donations for the annual holiday dinner for people who are homeless. The dinner will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Guests from Dorothy Day shelters and the Listening House will attend a formal dinner where the food is donated from food services and stores around the St. Thomas area. The donations will help pay for gift bags, meals and a jazz band. VIA would like to thank you for your generosity this holiday season!
We still have plenty of volunteer spaces open for anyone from the St. Thomas community who would like to help at the dinner. You can eat with the guests; ride the buses to the Dorothy Day shelters; or set up, serve, or clean up at the event.
The sign-up sheets are in the Center for Community Partnerships, Room 153, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. We'd appreciate anyone's help at this fun event.
Contact me, (612) 840-0777, with questions about volunteering. Other questions about the dinner can be directed to Sam Brown.
