Homeric rhapsode Mark Miner recites from the Iliad April 19

Mark Miner, a Homeric rhapsode (a professional artist who recites Homer's poetry), will perform during the convo hour from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in the O'Shaughnessy Room (Room 108, "the leather room") of the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center.

Miner will recite in the original Greek from the first book of Homer's Iliad. Dr. Lorina Quartarone, of UST's Modern and Classical Languages Department, will accompany Miner, offering the English translation of the lines he recites, so you don't need to know Greek to appreciate the performance.

This free event is offered to you by the Modern and Classical Languages Department's Classics Program. Everyone is welcome.

If you have any questions, contact Quartarone, (651) 962-5163.
