The two Hourcars on the university's St. Paul campus have been temp0rarily removed from service because of brake safety concerns. The 2010-model Toyota Prius hybrid cars will be replaced by one 2009-model Prius.
Hourcar staff advised the university on Friday that the 2010 models will stay removed until safety concerns about the cars are resolved. The 2009-model car will be available to Hourcar members at the Selby hub, located at Selby and Finn on the north campus.
Hourcar apologizes for the inconvenience but notes that safety is its top priority. For updates refer to the Hourcar Web site.
