Human Resources announces estate planning seminar Thursday
Like many people, you may hope to leave a substantial legacy for your loved ones. But, without proper planning and the appropriate financial strategies, you may not be able to protect your assets from the effects of estate taxes and probate. As a result, your estate may be settled in ways you did not intend and your heirs may receive a diminished inheritance.
Join the Human Resources Department for an educational workshop, "Estate Conservation," presented by consultants from the Lake Elmo office of the Principal Financial Group Minnesota Business Center. The session will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 24, in Room 210, Aquinas Hall. Pre-registration is not required.
Workshop topics:
- Calculating the value of your estate
- Benefits of estate conservation
- Intestacy and how it affects estate distribution
- Probate and how to avoid it
- Estimating your estate tax liability
- Strategies to help reduce estate taxes
- Estate distribution techniques, including wills and trusts
Participants will receive a full-color, 20-page workbook on estate planning. This resource contains essential information, exercises and questions that will help you assess your current situation and develop a strategy for preserving your assets. A complimentary consultation is offered to all workshop participants.
The Lake Elmo office of the Principal Financial Group Minnesota Business Center is located in Suite 125, 8530 Eagle Point Blvd., Lake Elmo, Minn.
