Instructional technologies learning opportunities available summer, fall

From Information Resources and Technologies

Summer 2007 has brought exciting changes and enhancements to Blackboard, such as the content system, ePortfolios, blogs, wikis, and new features for the discussion board and the assessments tool. IRT has been busy preparing to help our Blackboard community by enhancing our support resources as well. As we look to our fall semester, IRT would like to provide instructors opportunities to examine and learn about these new features, through classroom training, documentation and instructional videos.

We invite you to take advantage of the following learning opportunities. Don’t forget you can also contact your academic technology consultant for help with your instructional technology questions.

Documentation and instructional videos

Looking for some Blackboard resources to explore on your own? We’ve updated many of the documentation pieces and instructional videos found on the IRT Blackboard support page.

We have help sheets and documentation to help you get started with designing a basic Blackboard course, as well as using specific tools such as the assignment manager and the discussion board. We’ve also added materials for the content system, the ePortfolio tool, blogs and wikis. These are great resources if you simply want to read and learn about these tools and their potential applications.

For those who would like to see specific Blackboard tools and features in action, pour a cup of coffee, put on a headset, and view some of our instructional videos. Topics are 10 minutes or less, and you can view them at your leisure, from your office or from home.
