'Invention to Venture' participants will discover how to turn an idea into a new product

Invention to Venture is a national workshop model used to tap the entrepreneurial ambitions of students and faculty on college campuses in the United States. Participants discover how to turn an idea into a new product venture, and how to connect with local people and programs to help them turn their ideas into reality.

Participants will learn technology entrepreneurship basics, build their networks and develop plans for moving their ideas forward.

This is the first Invention to Venture workshop offered by the St. Thomas School of Engineering. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in Room 100, McNeely Hall, St. Paul campus. It is meant to be an introduction to the process and practice of technology entrepreneurship. The goal is to engage a wide range of participants from the university community and the business community.

Cost is $10 for undergraduate students, $20 for graduate students, faculty and alumni; and $50 for the business community and interested entrepreneurs.
