Library today: Get in the holiday spirit with carols, cookies in OSF Library

The UST Women’s Chorus, directed by Robert Vickery and Nathan Knoll, will perform from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center lobby. Sing along with familiar carols and listen to works performed by the choir. Refreshments will be served.

IEEE Computer Society Digital Library
The IEEE Computer Society Digital Library (CSDL) provides online access to the society’s 27 magazines and transactions and more than 3,300 selected conference proceedings published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It covers the years from 1988 to the present. Send comments to Earl Belisle. The trial ends Monday, Dec. 7.

Dictionary of Irish Biography
The Dictionary of Irish Biography includes biographies for more than 9,700 lives of Irish men and women who made a significant contribution to Ireland and beyond, as well as those born overseas who had noteworthy careers in Ireland. The work includes historical figures from centuries ago up to national figures from as recently as 2002. Send comments to Ann Kenne. The trial ends Wednesday, Dec. 23.

World Development Indicators
WDI Online offers the World Bank’s comprehensive database on development data, covering more than 800 indicators, 209 economies, and 18 regional and income groups. The extensive collection of development data includes social, economic, financial, natural resource and environmental indicators for more than 40 years, 1960 to 2007, where data are available (2007 data for selected indicators only). You’ll need a username and password for access (a link for entering this information is included on the UST Libraries Database Highlights and Trials page). Send comments to John Heintz.
