Effective Friday, St. Thomas will have a new shuttle bus provider: Lorenz Bus Service.
St. Thomas recently sought bids for a new five-year contract, which was awarded to Lorenz. Schmitty and Sons has provided the bus service in recent years.
The contract covers the shuttle buses between the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses, school bus rentals and charters for student groups. Sports teams, which generally use Minnesota Coaches, will continue to contract for their own buses.
The primary Lorenz shuttle buses between the two campuses eventually will be “wrapped” with images of campus buildings and scenes.
