M.A. in Art History program students to present Sept. 16 discussion of typeface design and national identity

The Minnesota Center for Book Arts and St. Thomas will host "About Face: Deeper Into Design and National Identity," a discussion at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, on the second floor of Open Book, 1011 Washington Ave. S., first floor, Minneapolis.

UST Master of Arts in Art History students –   Natalie Stanton, Caroline Baum, Lisa Melander and Traci Olinger – will discuss interesting intersections of national identity and type design.

The discussion is a final special event connected to "Face the Nation: How National Identity Shaped Modern Typeface Design," 1900-1960, curated by Dr. Craig Eliason of the St. Thomas Art History Department. The exhibition runs through Sept. 21 at Open Book.
