Music in the Library honors St. Cecilia, patron saint of music

Music in the Library presents its seventh annual concert in honor of St. Cecilia, the patron saint of music, from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, in the O'Shaughnessy Room (also know as the "Leather Room") of the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. UST student guitarists and instrumentalists will perform a variety of classical works in this free event.

Bring your lunch; light refreshments will be provided.

St. Cecilia, whose feast day is Nov. 22, was a virgin saint and martyr of the early Catholic Church.  She has been honored as the patron saint of music since the late 15th century.

Music in the Library provides opportunities for musicians in the UST community to perform in an informal, friendly atmosphere. Any student, faculty or staff member who is interested in participating in future musical offerings should contact Cathy Lutz, (651) 962-5459, or Conie Borchardt, (651) 962-6874.
