Music in the Library presents sixth-annual St. Cecilia concert
Music in the Library will present its sixth-annual concert in honor of St. Cecilia, patron saint of music, from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the O'Shaughnessy Room of O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center.
UST student guitarists, vocalists, instrumentalists and the UST Gospel Choir will perform a variety of classical and gospel works at this free event.
St. Cecilia, whose feast day is Nov. 22, was a virgin saint and martyr of the early church and has been honored as the patron saint of music since late in the 15th century.
Bring your lunch; light refreshments will be provided.
Music in the Library provides opportunities for musicians in the St. Thomas community to perform in an informal, friendly atmosphere. Any student, staff member or faculty member who is interested in participating in future musical offerings should contact Cathy Lutz, (651) 962-5450), or Conie Borchardt, (651) 962-6874.
