Online volunteer registration begins July 7 for UST's State Fair booth
The smells of State Fair corn dogs, and pickles and pork chops on sticks are just around the corner.
There are many traditions alive at the fair, and UST has created its own with its award-winning booth in the Education Building. Last year more than 200 volunteers worked under the arches at the booth. Again this year the university will give away purple tote bags at the booth. The distribution will be slightly different in that bags will be available one hour after the start of each shift. It is hoped that this will allow for a smoother shift change.
Volunteering at the State Fair is a way to be part of the UST community. Aside from handing out the giveaways, volunteers have the opportunity to speak with potential students, reminisce with alumni and greet other Minnesota State Fair goers. They also have the chance to meet others who work at UST and share knowledge and pride in the university.
All volunteers will receive a free-entry ticket and a free t-shirt.
The fair dates are Thursday, Aug. 21, through Monday, Sept. 1. Online registration to work at the booth begins Monday, July 7, so check Bulletin Today on July 7 for a link to the registration site.
