Philosophy Club to discuss rights

Philosophy Club to discuss rights

From the right to self-determination to the right to nuclear power or the right to wear (or not) the veil in public, what rights people and countries are entitled to has become a matter of debate. Are rights self-evident, as the Constitution claims, or unique to religions and ethnicities? What rights do we have and where do they come from?

All students are welcome to discuss, or simply listen to, these questions with the Philosophy Club from noon to 1 p.m. today, Thursday, April 17, in Room 126, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts.

As always, free pizza and pop will be available.
