Start Planning now for a Fulbright Student Grant for 2013-14 Academic Year

Students interested in applying for a study, research or teaching assistantship Fulbright grant for the 2013-14 academic year are encouraged to attend an information session tomorrow, Tuesday, May 8. The session will held at 11:45 a.m. at the International Education Center, 44 N. Cleveland Ave.

Fulbright study and research grants through the U.S. Student Program provide funding for round-trip travel, maintenance for one academic year, health and accident insurance, and full or partial tuition. Fulbright teaching assistantships and travel-only grants also are available to more than 20 countries. The program is designed to give recent B.S. and B.A. graduates, and masters and doctoral candidates opportunities for personal development and international experience.

All St. Thomas students must apply through the International Education Center by Sept. 21. Planning early is essential because it will take at least six to eight weeks to put together a competitive application.

Fulbright information can be found at fulbrightonline.org. Additional resources and advising are available at International Education; contact Sarah Huesing, 962-6450.
