Please Remember Erin Sobaski '85 in Your Prayers

sobaskiPlease remember in your prayers Erin Sobaski, 52, class of 1985 and inductee into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 1995 for women's track and field. She died on June 6 after spending time in hospice care at Our Lady of Peace in St. Paul.

A celebration of Sobaski's life was from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at O'Gara's Bar & Grill, 164 N Snelling Ave., St. Paul. Read her obituary here.

Sobaski was a six-time track and field All-American in three NCAA meets, helping St. Thomas place fourth nationally her senior year, when she competed in four events. Her best nationals finish was as a NCAA runner-up in the 400 hurdles in 1984. She won the Most Outstanding Performer award at the MIAC outdoor meet in 1985, when she had six top-two individual and relay places, and her 5-foot-6 high jump ranks her among the best in program history.
