Please remember in your prayers Dr. Berenice Bleedorn, St. Paul, who died Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the age of 99.

Bleedorn came to the University of St. Thomas in the late 1970s and for 17 years she developed and taught courses on creativity in business and education, and founded the Institute for Creative Studies.
The author of five books dealing with creativity, she spoke at seminars nationally and internationally and received a number of honors for her work, including the Ageless Hero Award for Love of Learning from Blue Cross-Blue Shield, the Founder's Medal for Distinguished Leadership from the Creative Education Foundation and the Outstanding Teacher Award from Metropolitan State University.
Last May, Bleedorn also was named to the Hall of Fame at Waconia High School, where she graduated in 1929. The following year she began her teaching career in one-room schoolhouses in the Waconia area, west of the Twin Cities.
Her Hall of Fame citation noted that after years of marriage to her husband, John, and raising two daughters, she earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota in 1967, and her master’s in educational psychology in 1969. Later, at the age of 73, she earned a Ph.D. in leadership and human behavior from the United States International University in San Diego.
