Please remember in your prayers Dr. Grady Webster Jr., father of Dr. Susan Webster, Art History Department. Grady, 78, died Oct. 27. He also is survived by his wife, Dr. Barbara Donahue Webster.
Grady was a professor emeritus of botany at the University of California-Davis, where he also had been director of the university’s arboretum and its Tucker Herbarium. An award-winning plant systematist, he retired in 1993 but still had been researching, traveling, writing and serving as a mentor to students. For his obituary, visit the UC-Davis Web site.
A celebration of Grady’s life was held Saturday, Nov. 5, on the UC-Davis campus.
Susan and her husband, Hernan, will be returning to Quito, Ecuador, where Susan is doing research and working on a book during her sabbatical.
