Please remember in your prayers former faculty member Paul Jansen

Services were held yesterday for Paul Jansen, St. Paul, who in the 1980s was associated with the University of St. Thomas’ programs in entrepreneurship.

Jansen was director of the Minneapolis District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration when, in 1982, he became the first person to hold the university’s newly created Chair in Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

As chairholder he taught courses in entrepreneurship and small business management at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Earlier in his career Jansen was national sales manager of the 3M Magnetic Products Division and founded a company, Jansen Electronics Mfg. Inc., that produced logic modules, teaching devices and electric motors.

Jansen was a graduate of St. Thomas Academy and the University of Minnesota, where he majored in electrical engineering. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou, and five children. Services were held at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, White Bear Lake, with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
