Please remember in your prayers the Rev. T. Kenneth Ryan, former editor of the Catholic Digest, who taught journalism at the University of St. Thomas from 1938 to 1947.
Ryan, 94, of New Hope, died April 25.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at O'Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home, 575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, at St. Mark Catholic Church, St. Paul. Visitation is one hour prior to Mass.
Masses are preferred.
Ryan began working at the Catholic Digest as a contributing editor in 1938, two years after the publication was founded. He served as assistant editor from 1947 to 1956 and editor from 1956 until 1975. After his retirement, he continued to write a regular column, "What Would You Like to Know About the Church?"
The University of St. Thomas acquired the Catholic Digest in 1964. It is the largest paid-circulation Catholic publication in the United States.
