Dr. J. Thomas Ippoliti, Chemistry Department, was invited to give a lecture, "Synthesis of New Photochromic Compounds: The History of a Long-Term Undergraduate Research Project," Feb. 10 at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. The talk summarized the results of research done with undergraduates at St. Thomas in this field over the past 10 years.

Dr. Meg Wilkes Karraker, Sociology Department, gave a talk, "Two Faiths, One Household," Feb. 1 at Risen Savior Catholic Church in Burnsville.

Dr. Lorman Lundsten and Dr. Dave Brennan, Marketing Department, presented a paper, "Estimating Retail Sales Supressed by the Census Bureau Using Median Polish," Feb. 13 at the National Entrepreneurship and Small Business Educators Conference in New Orleans. The paper also was published in the conference proceedings.

Dr. Nick Nissley, Organization Learning and Development Department, and Dr. Chuck Palus, of the Center for Creative Leadership, are co-authors of an article in a forthcoming issue of the newsletter of the American Creativity Association. The article, "The Art of Creative Thinking," builds on their work on how the arts are used to facilitate creative thinking in organizations.
