Public Safety would like to alert the University of St. Thomas community of an indecent exposure incident that occurred near Yale Place and 13th Street near the Minneapolis campus.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. today, Thursday, March 20, a UST student reported she was walking toward campus near the intersection when she was approached by an unidentified suspect. The suspect stopped the student and asked her for the time. The student told him the time. The suspect asked if she was certain. The student saw that he was exposing himself to her.
The student then began walking toward campus. The suspect initially followed her, but turned and went the opposite direction along Yale Place.
The suspect was described as a black male with light skin tone, between 30 and 40 years of age, with a small goatee, wearing a gray zipped up hoodie and baggy pants.
The University of St. Thomas believes that descriptors alone are not a valid reason to profile or cast suspicion on any individual. They are included here because they may reasonably assist in identifying the perpetrator of this incident.
Anyone with information regarding these crimes is urged to call the Minneapolis Police Department at (612) 348-2345, or Public Safety at (651) 962-5100.
